Johnstown  Colorado is located about 35 miles North of Denver Colorado. It is East of and just off I-25. Johnstown is a well established small community and enjoys a high quality of life. Because of it's location in the center between Denver and Fort Collins, Loveland Greeley triangle the town citizens  have access to the widest variety og recreational facilities, medical services, entertainment and shopping all within 10- 20 miles.  Now developing major areas called Centerra and 2534 at the corner of I-25 and Highway 34 is but a short drive. Johnstown is growing rapidly especially in land area and now has a foothold clear to Highway 34.

Many people see it as a small town with good highway access to jobs as far as Denver. The town itself and it's residential communities are still considered "out in the country" as they are surrounded by corn fields, dairy farms and ranches.

The population in 2000 census was 3,827 and is now estimated at about 5,000 and growing fast. . Johnstown is located in Weld County which had a population of over 180,000 in 2000. It is now estimated that there are nearer 200,000.  Johnstown like most of it's neighbors in the northern Colorado area are fast growing and dynamic.  

The climate is very mild and considered a near desert but it's hard to tell with all the lawns and trees along the river banks and planted in the downtown and residential areas.
