  Larimer County Fair & Rodeo

In July of every year  the Larimer County Fair and Rodeo is held at the Ranch in Loveland Colorado. Loveland and The Ranch is located just 15 miles from the western city limits of Greeley. The ranch is a large new events complex just off I-25 at the Crossroads Blvd exit. The Ranch includes both the Larimer County Fair grounds and the Budweiser Events Center.

The Larimer County Fair is the largest fair in Northern Colorado and is a five day event. The rodeo is a PRCA sponsored event and gets some of the best cowboys in America because there are two other large rodeos in the area in July. These are Cheyenne Frontier Days the granddaddy of the all and The Greeley Stampede the only Fourth Of July Rodeo in America.

The five day event also includes a large carnival with game booths and rides for the kids. There is also one building just for commercial vendors and many fair type products and services are represented.

As with most fairs in America we have a large 4H and Future farmers of America participation. There are buildings full of the 4H exhibits. The Larimer County Fair includes exhibits in Home economics, fine arts, photography and creative crafts. All of the farm animal kingdom is included as the young people show of their skills in animal husbandry and showmanship. The animals are auctioned off at the end of the fair to raise money for the young peoples further education. Local business is the great helper here as many businesses vie for the grand champions and other award winning animals.

The Larimer County Fair always has a large turnout for the various horse show events. There are miniature horses all the way to the large Belgians and Clydesdales pulling wagons and carriages.

There are also barrel racing, dog pulls, horse and mule pulls and catch-it events. As in any county fair there is the queen and here court who reign for one year as the Larimer County Fair and Rodeo Queen.
